3 Ad Creatives to Try This Week

Happy New Year and welcome back to Nice Ads! If you’re new here, each week we break down 3 ad creatives to help you make better ads for your business.

So let’s get things started.


I love this static from Spacegoods. I think it ticks so many boxes when it comes to performance image creative that I wanted to share it.

The main thing you’ll notice here is the colour. It’s very on-brand and because the brand’s colours are so well chosen it helps it pop off the feed and grab a customer’s attention without even trying. Not enough people talk about brand colour palette choice and why it’s so important for DTC brands. You use it on everything, so it makes sense to pick colours that capture attention. Another brand that does this well is Obvi, those guys know how to use colour.

As well as colour this creative contains the core things you need within a static ad. Headline, sub-headline, CTA and social proof. If you can get all those inside your advert without making it look cluttered, then you’ve won.

But Spacegoods has taken things to another level because of the headline they chose. “Working long hours?” They’re asking a question for you the scroller to answer. This is a great way to target your advert using the creative. You allow the viewer to self-target themselves, that’s the secret hack to ad creative post iOS14.

Let’s talk spokesperson ads. They’re becoming super popular and also really powerful - But how do you ensure that they are actually good? Take a look at the example above, you can watch it in full here.

First up, you need a good script. None of this ChatGPT rubbish - A real script that educates and holds attention. This honestly is the hardest part and where more brands fall down. So take your time here to write something special.

The next step is to film it, this part is once again easy to get wrong. One thing they’ve done really well in the example is focus on having great sound. A video is unwatchable when the audio is bad - So get yourself some kind of external mic like the Rode Wireless GO kit he’s using in the example. You’ll see these a lot on TikTok and it’s becoming a bit of a trend to hold them while speaking (Another reason this video works, it’s riding a trend people recognise and so it fits nicely into the feed)

After that, keep your edit simple and let the script do the work. A lot of the time flashy editing can just distract from the core message, that’s another technique they’ve nailed in this sample. Kept is super simple and to the point. Delivering the right information in the right format.

90% of people purchase or sign up for something to solve a problem or better themselves. They want to become a better them. That’s why I love this concept Motion have used. The entire video is based on the idea that to become a millionaire you need to use Motion. Very clever.

This advert will fit perfectly in any young entrepreneur’s social feed, grabbing them with the hook and holding them with the promise of showing them how they can become the person that they want to be. Aspirational content like this is a great way to get people interested in your product, present your customers with a person or idea they want to become and reveal that the path to that is your product. That’s what 90% of sport brand marketing is based on. Show a fit and healthy person, and tell the audience that they got like that because they used X product.

So why can’t you do the same with your product? Just find the right angle like Motion has. Creative like this is perfect TOF marketing, gather the right eyes and get them inside the funnel.
