Are your competitors selling your customers?

Reading time: 4 Minutes.

Howdy everyone 🤠 Another week, and another three ads I’ve found and I’m going to break down for you.

This week we’re going over:

  • Making ads that sell at the right time

  • A static format that’s easy to replicate

  • One of the best TOF ads I’ve seen

Do you have plans to scale in Q2? If so, you need a reliable ad creative partner. One that can lower your CPA and diversify your ad account - Basically, you need me and my agency Fraggell. So Click here to see if we’re a good fit.

Aloha

Be honest, when you look at buying something online, how often do you go for the first choice? Hardly ever. You shop around, you look at what else is on the market. So with that in mind, are you making ads that compare your product to your competitors? If not, you should be.

This is a UGC creative we made for Aloha. In it, we directly call out competitors and the volume of sugar they all have. Then, we show an Aloha bar that has way less.

If you’re in the market for a new snack bar, but the amount of sugar in them plays a big part, then seeing this ad might be enough to push you to purchase.

But why did we make this ad? Well, we saw multiple comments on our past ads asking about how much sugar was in the bars, so it was clearly something people cared about. So, we made this.

Beat your customer to the comparison and do it yourself. It works wonders for conversion rate.

Curology

There are a couple of static formats I come back to time and time again. One of them is the fake tweet. It’s so easy to create and can work really well if you craft it to display something like a meme or a before-and-after, like Curology has done.

You have a couple of ways to do this. You can tweet something out from your company page and then simply screenshot it, or you can mock something up in Canva.

Personally, I feel like when the tweet comes from a ‘real’ person, it looks more organic and might lead to a higher CTR—especially with something like a before-and-after since it’s so personal. But you could definitely test this with some variations.

There is an argument that this ad would work whether it was in a tweet format or not since before-and-afters are converting machines. But I believe this would stand a better chance of getting past Meta’s strict guidelines this way rather than a raw before-and-after.

TLDR:

  • Experiment with different ways to display a message or image

  • A/B test your formats to see if you can unlock new wins

Stokke YoYo

I LOVE this ad. It’s simple, but effective. AND on trend.

I don’t need to explain why this is a great creative—you’ve been on the internet, you know the trend. But the REAL reason this works so well is the demo. It sells the product instantly.

Because if you're in the market to buy a pram, you're already going to know the pain of finding one that’s not a massive pain to fold away, and they know that. So, the entire video shows you how their product is superior. It sells in 7 seconds. It’s perfect TOF.

Then, the idea is that once the customer is interested in the product, they’ll get targeted static ads and further UGC, which will give them all the information they need to make an informed decision.

TLDR:

  • If you have a cool product demo, SHOW IT!

  • TOF is the hardest to make, but the most fun.

That’s all for this week’s Nice Ads! Thanks for reading and taking the time out of your day!

I’ll see you soon!
