Make Video ads without filming anything.

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes, 30 seconds.

Happy Monday! I’ve been searching the internet for three great ads, and today, I’m going to break each down and show you how to replicate their success - Are you ready?

This week, we’re learning:

  • How to make ads with your archive footage

  • The best way to stop the scroll with image ads

  • A creative way to advertise clothing

Just before we start, I wanted to mention that my performance ad creative agency, Fraggell, is taking bookings for Q1 right now. So, if you want high-converting ad creative that lowers your average CPA by 30% 👇

Kolkata Chai

This creative was made with 100% archive video. It was a mix of content we’d already filmed for the brand, and the founders had shot themselves. Currently, it’s one of their best performers.

Why?

We don’t just promote the product; we speak to potential customers on a deeper emotional level. That’s why founder videos perform so well across accounts—not just as sales videos. We're telling a story.

All our clients get 100% net new creative and mashup ads like this, from UGC to high-production studio videos. So, if you’re looking for a new creative partner for Q1, let’s chat.

O Positiv

O Positiv is one of the best brands to look at when you need headline inspiration. These guys know how to write copy for a static.

Their static ads are super simple, usually just an eye-catching product image, and they pair that with one of these mad headlines. Sometimes, with a warped effect on the text to further stop the scroll.

But I think the reason I like them is that they are thinking outside the box with statistics; normally, it's just a needs must for brands and the copy they pick is boring and VERY product-focused. But O Positiv are stopping the scroll with statics more than more brands do with video.

So before you launch your next static, give yourself permission to go wild with your copy. Be scandalous. Have fun!

TLDR:

  • Stop writing boring copy

  • Catch eyes with your statics, don’t just leave it to the videos

Apparel is hard to advertise. Anyone in that space will tell you the struggle to come up with ad creative ads, so when I see one I always stop and save it like I did for this one. I’ve never seen anything like it.

There isn’t really much to even break down; they clearly got the idea, grabbed a model, some clothes and their phone, and then got to work. It might have taken them an hour to make max. But as it goes, this probably outperformed the ads that took them days to make.

Creative like this should be your lesson that often you just need to get something up and let the data tell you if it works or not.

TLDR;

  • Just make something

  • Get creative and be original.

We’re all done for this week. I hope you enjoyed the ads I picked; remember to watch them all in full! I posted two new videos this week again

See you next week
