The Cheapest Ad Creative You Can Make
Estimated reading time: 3 minutes, 51 seconds.
Welcome back to Nice Ads! The internet’s first creative breakdown newsletter. The seasons are changing, and so are the ads. This week, we’re talking about;
Making high-production videos that grab attention
A cost-effective video creative idea
What we can learn from organic videos
Let’s get started!
Vibe
We’ve been working with Vibe for well over a year now. Their product is reasonably high-ticketed, so almost all our creative is high-production to help reflect the price tag. (It also makes it easier because we don’t have to ship a 55” TV to creators around the world.) But this video we recently made is by far my favourite. Why? Because there is nothing like it from any other brand.
It’s so hard to stand out in the market right now; everyone is asking for your attention - So the best way to make sure your ads get seen is by creating ads that are different.
Our concept was to create something that felt more like a mini-short film or a trailer you’d see before a movie. From past experience, we’ve found that the problem-solution format often works best for them, so that’s the format we went for with this.
We shot this on location along with three other creatives for Vibe, all of which were high-production or a mix of high-production and UGC shot on site. It was always a great shoot!
I'd love to chat if this creative looks like something you could use for your brand. Our creatives have spent over $300m on them, so you can rest assured you're in safe hands. Click here to apply.
TLDR;
You need to go all out if you want to stand out
High production and high product prices go hand in hand

Beyond Object
Someone recently replied to an issue of Nice Ads requesting some creative that brands on a budget can create. So I’ve found the perfect one.
Often, startup brands stay away from video, thinking it’s too expective to make or hard to get started with. Well, it’s not. It’s easier than ever before. Static ads can be great and super cost-effective if you use a service like Creative OS. But everyone loves video. So the answer?
Slideshow videos
I don’t think I need to explain it much, it’s just a slideshow of images… What else can I say?
You can make this on CapCut for free in minutes, and I’m seeing these performing better and better. Sometimes, a simple slideshow ad like this can be more effective than a static ad with graphics all over it. You grab attention because not many of these are seen on the feed, and you get the opportunity to show your product in many situations. You could even add in a bunch of review images to make it very social-proof-heavy. The possibilities are endless.
TLDR;
Making any type of creative can be affordable if you get creative
Simple ads always win.

Now I don’t often do this, but this… is not an ad… this is an organic video 😱
But the technique she uses is perfect for paid media, so I really wanted to show it to you today. The idea is simple: Instead of just telling your customers something, show them!
Using a visual to represent something, as the creator does in this video, is a great way to help your customers understand what you are telling them. Most people are visual learners, so hearing a fact or a figure is kinda useless - showing it with something we can all imagine is the best option.
But also, using something like this as a hook is a great way to target the right customers and help them understand your product or service benefits in the first few seconds.
TLDR;
Show it, don’t say it
What works on organic works on paid
That’s everything for this weeks Nice Ads - Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you next week.
