Aloha

I think the team really smashed it out of the park with this product video that we recently made. It's always so much fun seeing the team create these and then seeing the finished product, because the behind-the-scenes always looks like it's not going to look very good. When you see the finished thing, it always looks incredible.

A lot of people might look at an ad like this and think there's no way this would convert on social, but now that creative diversity and creative volume are so important, or matter. Ads like this are actually performing better than ever before because Meta is pushing it to people that it wouldn't have before.

As much as we all see UGC on our feeds every day, there is still a large set of people that crave ads that look like ads. Particularly in the CPG space, it's really important to make ads for different kinds of people. Whenever you make one of these for Aloha, they always pop off.

I really suggest you watch the whole thing because it's an absolute masterpiece.

Here's a nice, easy ad you can make this week: literally just b-roll of your products in the warehouse.

We already know the employee-generated content performs incredibly well. Pack-in videos, etc., with a voiceover are winning on so many accounts right now. So much so that we've actually built a fake packing station in our studio to make this type of b-roll, but sometimes it can be as simple as showing your product in the warehouse.

It seems like this video that I've used as an example is generated by AI, but I think quite a lot of people won't even realise that, so you probably can do this by using video models like Kling but honestly, if you do have access to a 3PL that you can film in, I would really suggest doing this for real: go there one day, film a tonne of B-roll, and then archive it for use further down the line. Not only can you use this in specific pack-in videos, but you can also just use it for offers, as they have in the example. They come in real handy around Black Friday to announce a sale or just as a way to add more volume to your ad account.

Simple ads are normally the ones that perform best, so stop overthinking it.

TLDR:

  • Film your product inside your warehouse to announce offers and sales

TORRAS

This is a top-performing static that we made for a popular phone case brand. It combines a couple of things that we know perform across static ads:

  • Callouts

  • Clean product imagery

  • Native elements

When I say native elements, I mean things that the user recognises. For example, in this, it's the copy that's been styled to look like a Notes app. A couple of years ago, Notes app-style statics were actually really popular, but they don't perform so well anymore. We still love that element of delivering the copy, so we switched it up to include it within a more highly designed static, and I think it looks really great.

I think so many brand static ads look the exact same. Particularly in a competitive space like phone cases, you need to do something to separate yourself so that your ads look visually different. I think a test that I normally get my creative strategist to do is: once a static ad has been made, you can look at it, put yourself in the customer's shoes, and ask yourself, "Does this look like the competitor's ads?" If the answer is yes, go back to the drawing board.

TLDR:

  • Make yourself stand out with unique designs

That's all for this week's nice ads. Appreciate you taking the time to read. I've got a brand new YouTube video out breaking down how much creative you need for your ad spend. You can watch it here.
