Welcome back to Nice Ads. It's another week, which means I found another three ad creatives to break down. This week we're going to be talking about
A £15 accessory that can change the way you film ad creatives
Why you should be spending more time than you think on your ad scripts
A reminder to simplify your Black Friday static ads.

TORRAS

As we go into Q4, we're all looking for nice, easy wins. I have mentioned this before, but one of the easiest wins is by buying yourself a neck rig. These are super cheap on Amazon and give your ads a really unique point of view, which is very on trend at the minute.
This POV style of creative: both hands in shot. Literally, all you do is mag-safe your phone, put it on 0.5, and film whatever is in front of you. We made this ad for Torras, and literally all we did was lay out a couple of products, create a fake kind of packaging environment, and then just add a voiceover.
And the best part is that by changing just a few things, you can easily create many variations. Change the surface, change the background, change the voiceover, change the colour of the gloves. There are so many ways that you can spice up this footage, and if you archive it, you can use it in multiple different ads going forward.
This is particularly great for product showcase videos because you can really demo the product from this point of view, bring it closer to the camera, and highlight its unique features. I'm a really big fan of this type of creative. I think most people think you need those creepy Meta glasses to do this type of ad, but you really don't. You can pick up one of these rigs for £15 and come up with endless creative ideas.

Javvy Coffee

Scripts are incredibly important in ad creative because they cannot only make or break your ads but also make it easier for you to find future winners. Once you have a winning script, all you need to do is change the creator, and you have endless winning ads, or at least ads with a very high potential of being winners.
This is something we are doing more at Fraggell. Once we find a winning script, instead of iterating on it by changing the hook or doing something lazy in the edit, we're going out of our way to cast a new creator to squeeze more out of it. I think this ad from Javvy Coffee is a great example because what stands out most is the script and the creator. The creator is super natural on camera, and the script is both educational and product-first, which allows us to speak about the product without it feeling aggressively like an ad. And you can tell that the script and the creator are engaging because we're not pulling away for B-roll. We're staying on the creator the entire time.
I think when people make ads like this, they often just have the creator stare and talk at the camera, which feels uncomfortable. It looks uncomfortable. The best thing to do with ads like this is to get them to do something. In this, she's making the product. It makes the creator feel more comfortable. It makes the ad feel more watchable.
Don't be afraid to spend a lot of time on a script, because that work ends up making more money than just testing at higher volume.
TLDR:
Take your time to write great, watchable scripts

BURGA

Black Friday is right around the corner, and if you don't already have a bunch of static ads to launch, then it might be worth doing that this week. I've actually made a video coming out sometime next week that breaks down what makes for great Black Friday creative. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel here to watch it before anyone else.
The reason I picked this example is that it perfectly summarises the point that you don't need to overthink your Black Friday creative. Most of the people who will be buying during this period already know they want to buy from you. They just need a good offer.
A great example of this is that I was in a tech shop last week and overheard someone say, "We know we need a TV, but we might as well just wait until their Black Friday sale." That summarises exactly the mindset of most customers at this time of the year. If they want to buy something, whether it's for the first time or in bulk, they're probably just going to wait it out until Black Friday/Cyber Monday because they know most stores will have a sale.
Your static ads just need to remind people that you exist and that you currently have a sale on, and just let the algorithm do the rest.
TLDR:
Don't overthink those static ads this festive season

That's all for this week's Nice Ads. I appreciate you taking the time to read this.
