AI slop is here to stay, and we're seeing it more and more in ad accounts, so we decided to give it a go ourselves. This was one that we created a couple of weeks ago, and I want to tell you about how you can make one for yourself.
First of all, let me preface this by saying AI ads are not as easy as people say they are. It takes a lot of time, a lot of generations to get right, and you can very easily waste a couple of hours making one ad. To put it into perspective, we now have someone on our team dedicated to building AI ads because it was taking too much of our current editor's time.
To create animation ads like this, all you need is access to NanoBanana Pro 2 from Gemini. This helps you generate the start frames for your videos and then use a model like Kling to animate them into a full video. The reason we start with frames and then videos is that images are much cheaper and faster to generate than videos. We can dial in the look before we fully commit to generating a video, and then it's essentially just a matter of repeating this until you've built out your full video.
I'm not sure why ads like this are performing so well, since so many people seem to hate AI, but you can't argue with results.

I'm an absolute sucker for a great founder ad, and this one actually got served on my own feed, and I watched the entire thing. I think the one great thing about founder ads is that you are separating yourselves from everyone else in the market with something no one else has: a story. People can copy your packaging, copy your landing pages, but they can't copy the story of how you built your brand.
I think this is an absolute masterpiece of script and editing, because they work together to create a really high-paced yet slow-building narrative that pulls the whole video together. It keeps your interest throughout with entertaining video, but it's still grounded in a three-act structure. If you want to know how to make a great founder ad, this is a brilliant place to start for inspiration.
In comparison to our first example today of AI videos, this is the complete opposite. It's something which is so creative and so unique that it's what separates you from all the brands which are doing what everyone else is doing, which is AI ads. When you're building a brand, think about what side of the AI fence you want to be on.

Here's a nice, simple static that you could use this week. Everyone loves a freebie, especially when they're still deciding whether to buy your product, which is why offering and serving it at the right time is so important.
These guys probably know from research that people struggle to decide whether to buy gold or silver, so with their buy-one-get-one-free offer, they push that narrative to relate to people and where they are in the purchase decision. This is why doing deep research on your customers and what they're thinking at different stages is so important, because it allows you to create ad creative that caters to them.
Instead of basing your creative decisions solely on vibes and what you, as the founder, think, start making them based on actual customer data. You can find this with reviews, post-purchase surveys, or by speaking with your customer. All of this is incredibly valuable information that makes creating ads ten times easier.
